Biography
Angelika is a Doctor of Law (cum laude) in business and corporate law and is admitted to the Bar of Athens. She has initially studied Law in Athens Law School, then Banking and Financial Law in Sorbonne – Paris I, Paris, France, Management of Banking Institutions in HEC Lausanne Switzerland and made legal research in Max Planck Institut, Munich, Germany on Board of Directors (BoD) rules and operation.
Her research on BoD led to the publication of a book on the matter and to several other articles and publications mainly on the topic of Directors’ remuneration, stock options etc. Angelika is also the author of a book on “Bank Guarantee of first demand” (phd thesis) and of numerous other articles and publications on various legal matters of business, corporate and commercial law that were published in Greece and abroad.
Since 2000 Angelika is the managing partner of “Selekos – Gouskou Law Offices” and before that she had the chance to stay in London and cooperate for two years with London City Law firms on international transactions/project finance.
Angelika has also worked from the position of special legal advisor for 20 years for the Hellenic Banks Association and she has been the legal advisor, BoD member or BoD secretary for various Greek corporations, including the legal advisor of the State-owned company DEPA SA for 5 years, advising on international transactions and public sector’s corporate governance.
Today she is advising on several occasions privatisation projects and international transactions, focusing at all times on corporate law and governance, for the benefits of which she has a strong belief. She is a special legal advisor of the Hellenic Banks Association (in ICC legal matters currently and on banking law and bank tax related matters for the past 20 years), and has been for a number of years the special legal advisor -dealing -mainly with international transactions and privatisations of Public Corporation of Gaz (DEPA) as well as of Jermyn Street Real Estate Fund IV L.P for the Acquisition and development of Astir Palace Vouliagmenis.
Angelika is a member of the Committee of ESED (the Greek Corporate Governance Council) and she is also an accredited arbitrator on commercial, business and corporate law of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEA) and a member of the Legal Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris. She also represents Greece at the ICC Banking Commission on behalf of the Hellenic Bank’s Association.
