Biography

After completing his vocational training in banking at Sparkasse Ulm (“Bankkaufmann”) Dieter studied Finance & Accounting (Dual Bachelor Degree, Leeds University & Hochschule Bremen). In addition, and thanks to a Fulbright scholarship, Dieter studied International Management (MBA, Golden Gate University, San Francisco).

In January 1994 Dieter joined Citibank Frankfurt’s Corporate Banking Team as Management Associate. Following eight years in various capacities in lending and credit with Citibank, including two years at Citibank London, Dieter joined the European Investment Bank’s (“EIB”) Credit Risk Department in 2002. After the first three years in credit Dieter joined EIB’s UK private sector lending team as relationship manager and subsequently Dieter moved to EIB’s German private sector lending team. Since August 2017, and while based in Luxembourg, Dieter has been part of EIB’s Investment Team for Greece with responsibility for the Corporates and Banks Unit.
